FLL SUSSEX SMASHERS

Sussex Smashers is a FIRST Lego League team from Sussex Inlet.

This is a sleepy town on the NSW South Coast about 3 hours away from Sydney, Australia. We are lucky to live in this beautiful holiday destination all year round, where we are surrounded by beaches, waterways and have amazing wildlife on our doorstep.

Sussex Smashers is made up of a group of friends from school. The group was founded in 2015 when we entered Trash Trek. As a rookie team we really enjoyed competing in the FIRST  Lego League competition. We worked hard on our project on recycling and were nominated for a judges award.

2016 has seen us grow from three members to six. For our Animal Allies competition we have been investigating how we can interact more harmoniously with our local wildlife, in particular the kangaroos who live amongst us and are a thrill for visitors to see. We will be competed in the Wollongong Regional competition at the end of November 2016.

2017 has been a great year for us! We competed at Ulladulla Regional and won the Robot Design Award and were selected to compete at Nationals! At Nationals we competed strongly in all areas and were awarded 3rd Place Champions! We are the 3rd ranked team in Australia!
